Aparece, aparecer by Valentina Alvarado Matos and Carlos Vásquez Méndez is the second publication edited under the expanded essay line of Ressò, which began with the book Interrogar el acompañar by Carolina Campos. Aparece, aparecer proposes a visual and textual approach to the collaborative working methodology between the two artists—focused on 'exercises' of translating words into images and vice versa—while raising questions central to the artistic works they develop together: the relationship between image and word, performativity, the haptic nature of the filmic act, and the work with the materiality of analog cinema, among others.
Aparece, aparecer dialogues with the exhibitions el otro aquí and totalmente rostro, which were part of the programs at the Centre d'Art La Capella and La Virreina Centre de la Imatge, respectively, in 2024.
